Oh Happy Flower Fairy Day!

I love flower fairies. One of my nieces told me about fabric.com. No I haven't bought them out but I'm working on it. Now I just need to figure out what to make with all this fabric. As for now I'm just looking at and stroking all my flower fairy fabric

Childhood Memories

While sewing this quilt top together I kept having flashbacks to Persian Yellow roses that grew along side my great grandfather's house. I could picture crawling between the house and the roses. I could feel the heat of the summer and the sweet over powering smell of the roses. The last time I was at the old family farm all the roses had died from neglect and drought.

Yesterday I went to a wedding reception out at the old family farm. I found these rose bushes. I thought they were all gone. With them a flood of childhood memories came back. I remember my grandfather lifting me up and setting me on the refrigerator. At age two picking my brother, two years younger than me, up from off the bed and then somehow getting him back on the bed before my mother found me with her darling boy. Driving a truck at age 2 ½ while my father was feeding the cattle. The washing machine with a lawn mower engine and a hose that took the exhaust fumes out of the house. And the most outstanding memory was the rattle snake that was playing with my cat in the front yard. I think that is when my feelings towards snakes was formed.

Cupcakes & Cherries & M.E. --OH MY!!!

I'm not very good yet at this picture posting thing yet. And I may be doing this all wrong. But here goes. This is the fabric I've chosen for my M.E. apron swap. Isn’t it just wild? Well maybe not for some.

This is the pattern I'm using. I just have to brag a little here. The picture on the front of the pattern is one of my daughters. If you already have this pattern the little girls on the inside cover are two of my granddaughters. What's more another one of my daughters took the photographs. Such talented girls, they must have got it all from .... Well I just won't go into that right now. If anybody is interested in buying a copy of this pattern here is a link.

We Have Carpet!

After 24 years we finally have a finished basement. Well, we need to get the cabinets for the mini kitchen over in the corner.

This is the room under the stairs. We are planning on putting a gate up where we can keep the little leg biters.

Eating Adventures with Spencer!

Spencer doesn't like eating. He says his tummy hurts.

Spencer has a plan to get some attention at dinner time.

Spencer will play with his food and pretend he is not hungry until his daddy, mommy, sisters, cousins, gran'ma, etc. give in and start to feed him.

Spencer really can feed himself. He is such a tease.

After eating his dinner Spencer then goes out and plays soccer with his big brother.

One of Spring's Little Surprises

After the red and yellow tulips and the daffodils had all bloomed and died back these pretty little pink tulips came up. What a wonderful bonus this spring!
